2nd CEASEFIRE TO FOCUS WHAT BARRIER AMONG ARMED GROUPS
Kantarawaddy Times-

Scheduled for second time of unfinished nationwide ceasefire discussion for both Government and Ethnic armed groups on May 19-20 could lead to a deliberated negotiation according to NCCT.
“There are barriers to complete the SILGAL TEX now, as some results from the discussion table are speculative.” Said Nai Han Tar Chairperson of Nationwide Ceasefire Coordination Team.
Upcoming meeting would probably find a solution for why Government is hard to understand federalism and why NCCT couldn’t accept two of the 2008 constitution articles, which stated that to comply the constitution, and to live under the active law.
“ We learned that government couldn’t comply to what we really wanted and also we couldn’t accede to what they asked. So it is a huge barrier and we still have a long way to go.” Said Nai Han Tar.
The coming dialogue would not be a hard table for ceasefire agreement as the attendants are from Military and Ethnic Armed groups said Myanmar Peace Center.
“Ceasefire is a matter of Tatmadaw so that they will have to deal with them.” said U Hla Maung Shwe, advisor board for MPC.
The very first nationwide ceasefire dialogue took place on March 5th – 8th at Myanmar Peace Centre, Yangon resulted a draft agreement.
The next scheduled dialogue will be held on May 19th-20th along with Union Peacemaking Working Committee UPWC and NCCT, which is membered with 16 different ethnic armed groups at the same location as previous.
